WHY NOT? Some might criticize you for becoming a member of a “Holiness Church”. But this is the very thing that God requires of each of us – to be Holy. God said in Leviticus 20:7 “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God.” And His message does not change. For He said in 1 Peter 1:16 “….Be ye holy; for I am holy.” The writer in Hebrew 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
So the question is “Why Not” be a member of this Church? We teach and preach true holiness. We believe in the power of the Holy Ghost that will help you with living on earth and prepare you for the life to come.
We believe and teach that God love us so that He gave His Son and His Son gave His life so that we might have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
The Apostolic Way Holy Church of the True and Living God, Inc., was organized July 4, 2004 in Birmingham, Alabama, by Dr. Elvis May, after leaving Greater Pratt City AOH of which he served as pastor for over 22 years.
Dr. May was shortly consecrated as Bishop. Elder Doris May, who was later consecrated as Overseer, remained as the assistant pastor.
Apostolic Way got its' start in North Birmingham where we remained until 2013. We later temporarily moved to Hueytown Community Center with the intentions of renting the building for 6 months as we continue in our fundraising project, to build God a church. However, those plans were not the will of God.
We began worshipping at our current location September 1, 2013 as renters. But, thanks to determination from Overseer May, we were allowed to come in as renters and closed on the purchase on April 25th, 2014.
On November 21, 2015, Bishop Elvis May consecrated Overseer Doris May to the position of Pastor.
"It is my highest goal to help each and every person that come into these doors to become all that they can in Christ Jesus. As the shepherd of this ministry, I strive to first live the life that I teach and preach about. I commit to feeding you the pure Word of God. I also commit to loving and remembering you always in my prayer.
Because life is filled with swift transition, I encourage you to be mindful that you do as Paul states in Romans 12:2 “…be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
I also encourage you to be as Paul state in 1 Cor. 15:58 “... be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
I would love to help lead and guide you along this Christian journey. As we grow in grace, grow in love, and grow in Jesus Christ, we will let Him lead us all the way from earth to glory."
